How Ultimate Curcumin Solution Works for You

Curcumin is a nutritional component of turmeric, a plant belonging to the ginger family that has been used for centuries in Indian and Asian cultures for cooking and to support a healthy inflammatory response.

Turmeric root is rich in curcuminoids, the active constituents of the plant. And the turmeric root extract featured in Ultimate Curcumin Solution is a full-spectrum form that has been standardized to 95% total curcuminoids, one of the highest concentrations possible. Compare this with many curcumin supplements on the market that are only standardized to 50% or less to confirm that you’re getting true premium quality curcumin in Ultimate Curcumin Solution.

Although the power of curcumin is legendary, it is often difficult for your body to absorb, so we added 20 mg of BioPerine® black pepper extract to the formula. This proprietary extract is also standardized to contain 95% of its active constituent, called piperine, and studies show it slows processing of curcumin in both the liver and intestines so that the curcumin can be better absorbed…2,000% better to be exact!

This tremendous increase in bioavailability means you get exponentially greater support for a healthy inflammatory response with every generous 1,330 mg dose of curcumin in Ultimate Curcumin Solution.

Curcumin’s long list of important health benefits stem largely from its ability to inhibit numerous inflammatory chemicals in your body, including TNF-alpha, a major inflammation mediator. In scientific research, curcumin’s disruption of TNF-alpha led to significant improvements in brain, cardiovascular and joint health.[xiii], [xiv]

In addition, curcumin is a tenacious scavenger of a particularly dangerous type of free radical called reactive oxygen species, or ROS for short. ROS free radicals have been linked to serious cellular damage, lipid oxidation, skin health problems including wrinkle formation, and to the overall aging process.[xv]  By stopping ROS free radical damage before it starts, curcumin can help you look and feel young and vibrant.

For groundbreaking, all-natural protection and support for a healthy inflammatory response—the smoking gun behind virtually every age-related health condition—take Ultimate Curcumin Solution every day.

Research Corner

Feature Benefit—Comfortable, flexible joints

A double-blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated the effects of 6-week curcumin supplementation at a dose of 1,500 mg per day on joint pain and function in a group of subjects with knee problems. Results were measured by changes in WOMAC, VAS and LFI—three separate validated questionnaires on joint pain severity and joint dysfunction. Subjects taking curcumin experienced statistically significant improvements on all three questionnaires, indicating curcumin reduced joint pain and improved function after one month. The WOMAC survey revealed an impressive 38% decrease in pain scores and a 41% decrease in physical dysfunction scores.[xvi]

In a multicenter study, researchers compared the joint pain-relieving effects of 1,500 mg per day of turmeric extract against ibuprofen (1,200 mg/day) in a group of subjects with knee dysfunction and pain. The study lasted for 4 weeks, and pain and function were measured using the WOMAC scale. At the end of the study, researchers concluded that turmeric significantly improved all WOMAC.[xvii]

Feature Benefit—Improved cardiovascular health and blood lipid levels

Improved-cardiovascular-health-and-blood-lipid-levels

In one double-blind, placebo controlled study, a group of subjects with blood sugar concerns took 250 mg of curcuminoids per day for 6 months. At the end of the test period, subjects exhibited significant improvements in heart health markers compared with placebo. Specifically, arterial stiffness was reduced by 13%, while levels of the anti-inflammatory marker adiponectin increased by 158%. Also, leptin, a pro-inflammatory marker, decreased by 67%, triglycerides decreased by 47%, and insulin sensitivity improved.[xviii]

In another double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study, a group of obese subjects were given 1 gram of curcuminoids or placebo each day for 30 days. During the curcumin supplementation period, group 1 exhibited a 10% decrease in triglycerides and group 2 exhibited a 13% decrease.[xix]

Feature Benefit—Healthy gastrointestinal tract and digestive function

Healthy-gastrointestinal-tract-and-digestive-function

In a randomized, pilot clinical trial, 270 healthy adults with gastrointestinal problems were given one of two doses of a standardized turmeric extract, 72 mg or 144 mg, for 8 weeks and completed standardized questionnaires on symptom outcome, side effects and quality of life. After 8 weeks, those taking the lower dose of turmeric experienced a 53% reduction in symptom prevalence while those taking the higher dose experienced a 60% reduction. While only 9% and 10% of volunteers reported a normal bowel pattern at baseline, these numbers increased to 29% and 32% (low and high dose, respectively).[xx]

Feature Benefit—Balanced mood

Balanced-mood

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, researchers examined the effect of 1,000 mg turmeric, standardized to 70% curcumin, on mood symptoms and inflammatory markers in a group of 108 men also taking prescription medication for their mood problems. Results on two separate validated rating scales showed significant improvements compared to placebo. The responder rate, or percentage of people who had their symptoms reduced by 50% or more, was 30% for the curcumin group compared to 4% for placebo. Inflammatory markers and cortisol levels were also significantly reduced.[xxi]

Feature IngredientBioPerine® Black Pepper Extract

BioPerine-Black-Pepper-Extract

BioPerine® is a patented standardized black pepper extract providing 95% piperine that is used in combination with dietary ingredients, including curcumin and coenzyme Q10, to improve their absorption. Research suggests that piperine enhances absorption of other nutrients by inhibiting the glucuronidation process in the liver and intestines to slow digestion processing.

A pharmacokinetic study investigating the effects of piperine on curcumin absorption was performed in rats and humans. Curcumin was chosen as it has poor bioavailability due to its rapid processing in the liver and intestines. In the animal study, adding piperine to curcumin increased its bioavailability by 154%. In the human study, researchers gave 10 subjects 2 grams of curcumin with or without 20 mg of piperine and found that adding piperine increased the bioavailability of curcumin by 2,000%.[xxii]
